Dungeon Depths is set in a fantasy medieval world. Where magic is abundant and monsters dwell around the corner. The world is quite vast having many different regions, biomes and cultures. Spreading across mountains, sea's, deserts, forests, jungles and way further.
In this world magic is like a particle, it can make up a gas, liquid or solid. Its properties make it so it pulls other magic particles together with a slight force, something like gravity. But it's most interesting feature is that it can be infused into anything. Swords, armor, artifacts even living beings or normal objects. If enough magic pools up into an object it can gain consciousness and turn into a magical being. But magic can also lie stagnant waiting for someone to come close to rush into their body and give them power. Some researches have described magic of having a mind of it's own.
The biomes also known as regions each have their unique personality, cultures, enemies, animals, items and dungeons. Please understand that the descriptions below are just a brief overview of what to expect in each biome, and they are subject to change as the game develops.
Green hills fill the land with the occasional river, forest and maybe even a little mountain. Sitting on a hill a town with a castle inside, surrounding it is plots of farm land. The castle is made of stones from a quarry nearby and wood from the surrounding forests. Where there isn't farmland there's animals roaming around like cows, sheep, pigs and chickens. The people here are simple folk, farmers, blacksmiths, merchants and the occasional adventurer. But be careful when walking around the graveyard at night, zombies and skeletons have been known to rise from the dead. And some even say there are catacombs under the abandoned church in the graveyard.
A dry and dangerous place with sand dunes spreading for what seems like forever. Cacti and tumbleweeds are the only plants that can survive here. From time to time there is a river or oasis where life can be found. Nomad travelers and merchants pass through here on their way to the next town or city. But what's this, between two rivers lies a huge city packed with people, shops and a bustling market. And next to the city a huge pyramid, the people say it's been there for as long as anyone can remember. But be careful, the desert is home to many dangerous creatures like giant scorpions, sand worms and mummies.
A huge ravine that cuts through the land. The walls are steep and rocky, making it difficult to climb down. Deep so deep that you cant even see all the way down. Rich veins of precious metals and gems can be found here. Goblins and orcs have made their homes in the caves and tunnels that run through the ravine. But miners and adventurers also come here to try their luck at finding treasure.
Filled with swamps, marshes and bogs. The wetlands are a dangerous place to be. The ground is soft and muddy, making it easy to get stuck and fall victim to the many predators that lurk around. Giant frogs and snakes are just some of the creatures that call this place home. But there are also some friendly folk here, like witches and fairies who gather rare plants and ingredients from the swamps. The wetlands also have a small village where the houses are built on stilts to avoid the flooding. Be careful who you trust, some witches are evil.
The port is a bustling town located on the coast by the sea. Ships from all over the world come here to trade goods and supplies. The town is filled with sailors, merchants and fishermen. The port is largely absent of magic, the people here rely on their skills and hard work to make a living. Steampunk technology is also present here, with airships and steam-powered boats being a common sight. But there are many foes to be found here, from pirates to sea monsters.
The jungle is dense filled with tall trees, vines and exotic plants. The air is thick with humidity and the sounds of wildlife. Monkeys swing from tree to tree, colorful birds fly overhead. But there lies a temple hidden deep in the jungle, filled with treasures and dangers. It is filled with traps and man eating plants. But the biggest danger by far is the tribal lizardmen who worship the temple as their god.
There are stories of ships being sucked into a giant whirlpool in the middle of the sea. Some say it's a portal to another world, others say it's a monster. The truth is, it's a dangerous place filled with sea monsters and treacherous currents. Only the bravest sailors dare to venture near it, those who come back describe an abandoned underwater city filled with fish, crabs and other sea creatures. But the adventurers who go there rarely make it back.
A huge tower made of wood and held up by magic. It reaches high into the sky, disappearing into the clouds. The tower is said to be a place of great power, where wizards and sorcerers come to study and practice their craft. But the tower is also home to many dangers, from magical constructs to powerful spells gone wrong. Only the most skilled and knowledgeable magic users dare to enter the tower.
The mountains are home to dwarves who have managed to make home from this harsh environment. The towns are build into the mountainside, with mines and forges everywhere. The dwarves dig deep into the mountains to find precious metals and gems. The mountains are also home to many dangerous creatures like trolls and goblins who live in abandoned dwarf cities and mines and wyverns.
The peaks are the highest point in the world, covered in snow and ice. Snow golems lie hidden waiting for mountain goats and other animals to come close. Small pools of lava and hot water springs are around so be careful where you step. Sometimes you can find dragon nests, if you're lucky there's a dragon egg and you can try to get it home. If you're unlucky there's a dragon.

The abandoned castle isn't home to zombies or skeletons, it used to be a magical kingdom, strong and powerful. Until one day it all fell apart, the king died and the siblings weren't fit to lead. Being born in a very magical place they were very powerful but also full of pain. Their bodies 3 times the size of a regular human, they suffered from sickness and pain all the time. The villagers took care of them for as long as they could, bringing them medicine, doctors and feeding them. But they couldn't do it and after more and more villagers leaving the town noone except the siblings was left. The kingdom slowly deteriorated but magic still gathered there. The armor in the stands came to life, and defended the kingdom from thieves and adventurers. Some say the siblings are still alive, adventurers even say they saw them dancing and heard them laughing. Will you venture inside?
A huge mountain with lava spewing from inside. It is extremely dangerous to go near it. Most people require specialized gear to not burn alive just from being near it. But what's that? Something in the lava? Could that be a fish?
A cold and frigid place full of wolves, yetti's and bears. Very few plants can survive here, the ground is mostly rock and ice. But despite of this, humans still live here, in small villages and towns. Surviving off of fish from the frozen lakes and magical flowers that grow even in the cold ground.

A forest with massive trees with red wood. The height of these trees is almost absurd. The trees are so tall that they block out most of the sunlight, making the forest floor dark and gloomy.
Something pulls you to this place, it is hiding a secret your body knows but your mind cannot comprehend. Will you go and find out?
A place that is extremely far away from everything, some say there are ancient animals there. Prehistoric even.
